He spent over 30 years with the London Fire Brigade (LFB), in recent years pioneering the Inter-Agency Liaison Officers role and attending some of the most high profile incidents such as the 7/7 and 21/7 bombings in London, and the Buncefield Oil Depot Fire.

Mick was one of the London Fire Brigade’s Inter-Agency Liaison Officers, a group set up by the LFB in conjunction with the Metropolitan Police and other agencies to enhance and develop co-operation between all emergency services, and is extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of disaster management. Since staring his own consultancy firm, which subsequently led to the formation of Hanover Associates, Mick has undertaken consultancy work in the private and public sectors, developing the Enhanced Command Support Units for the New Dimension Project and designing and delivering Command and Control training to a variety of prominent organisations.

Mick was also involved in the provision of IT and Communications support during the major flooding incidents and at the multi-agency exercise ‘Orpheus’. He has provided expert consultancy to several large companies who have been compiling tenders for emergency service contracts.
